I'm gonna knock you out, hu- Mama said knock you out~

Its Monday morning again! This weekend was wonderful. I had such a fun time making these (I used stencils and a bleach pen- I have a new addiction people!)

For all of us It was a cold, early morning so thank goodness for this guy. Doesn't he look like a ghost-buster trapped in Starbucks garb? "when the light is green, the trap is clean"
The walk was great, the weather was great and all in all The ChIPs raised over $1000.00! You might be wondering what is up with the "Knock Out" theme. The celebrity sponsor for this years Walk was Joey Gilbertson- he is a local Reno boy, who just happens to have made it pretty far on the show "The Contender"- so, knocking the crap out of a disease sounded like a good theme for this year's event.

The ChIPs are already started to talk plans for next years event.
Thanks to everyone who helped make our up donations, with all of your help they might just find a cure.

KNITTING: Didn't get a lot of knitting done this weekend because I was busy making the shirts. I did start making the mini sweater, but frogged it because it started to get lopsided some how. I need to use flat yarn for my first go around with the pattern... Started the Wavy Gravy scarf from SnB Nation with the yarn instead.

Congrats on the walk. We used to have a small, hobby-like screenprint business. I still miss making shirts to convey my mood. A bleach pen sounds like a great idea.

The walk sounds great! As a diabetic (type 2), I thank you all!

Even though I'm not a coffee drinker, the Starbucks guy... he should be on every street corner. Maybe with decaf on every other corner (envisioning the caffeine-induced road rage), but what a cool concept!

wtg!!!! The t-shirt looks great!!!! I thought I could get $500 by myself, but then Hurricane Katrina killed that (I put all of my cash into a Red Cross bin ;) And then all my pals started donating to that. Oh well. Maybe hubby will give me the difference! This is my first walk and I plan on walking the 6 miles. I can't wait!

Hi! I was browsing through some knitting blogs and happened upon yours! I am sooo thankful that you did your local JDRF Walk! My 15 year old daughter has had Type 1 diabetes for 3 1/2 years. It is a horrible disease and we need to find a cure so that she and the million other people with it can live a long and healthy life!
The walk in Columbus, Ohio was a couple of weeks ago and they raised over $600,000!! My husband and 3 daughters helped to set up and count money for that walk.
Thanks again!

Oh, and I LoVE the Starbucks guy too! I want him to show up on my porch!! LOL

Thanks again!!
